The second edition of the Samsung Labo programme

We are pleased to inform, that the second edition of the Samsung LABO programme has started. Students from  the Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Electrical Engineering from West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, will get a special and tailored training programme, in which they are learn how to adapt their technologies on market.

Programme consists of paths: technical and business. Techhnical workshops are held in a special equipped laboratory with a variety of hardware platforms from Samsung: Android, Tizen and SmartTV. The business workshops are conducted in the methodology of Business Model Canvas. Here we’ll assume to conduct three classes:

–          the development of the business model – 05.03.2015

–          verification of the assumptions of the model Business Model Canvas in practice (Lean Start up) – 09.04.2015

–          financing for development and the possibility of additional non-financial support – 23.04.2015

Participation in the Working Group on the National Smart Specialization (KIS), Ministry of Economy

We would like to proudly inform that our CEO was selected by the Steering Committee of the Ministry of Economy to the Working Group on environment-friendly transport solutions (GR 9 ds. TRANS).mingosp-300x157

The Working Group meetings provide a forum for exchange of ideas, information and experiences between entrepreneurs and partners from the world of science and business. Entrepreneurs and men of science and business are involved in projects with a common objective in the field of the smart specialization.

The tasks of the Working Group (inter alia):
– partial evaluation of businessplans,
– define a vision of development and the effects of the National Smart Specialisation,
– identify barriers, threats for the development of the specialties.

Brokerage meetings in Stargard Szczecinski

Brokerage meeting  took place in Stargard Szczecinski. The purpose of the meeting was to bring togheter the world of business and the world of science. Participants of the event were all puDSC02565blic and one private university from the West Pomerania region and entrepreneurs – for example such big companies like Bridgestone or Cargotec.

Discussions focused on the possibility of establishing research and development projects between the Maritime University of Szczecin and different companies. Each meeting last 15 minutes, then participants changed partners and opened discussions again. Brokerage events have many advantages – in a short time we can obtain commercial expectations of many potential partners. It would’t be possible on a ordinary conference.

DSC05606Brokerage meeting in Stargardzie Szczecinskim was the first event of this kind in Poland, when universities go to investors with proposals of cooperation. Participants included 13 entrepreneurs, 38 scientists from 6 universities and representatives of regional authorities.

The organizers plan to arrange next B2R meetings in different cities of the Western Pomerania.

 

Business Breakfast on the ship Ladoga

Today, in the Restaurant of the Ladoga we took part on a business breakfast, which was attended by scientific staff of the Maritime University of Szczecin (MUS) and maritime industry from Szczecin. The meeting was carried in a very good atmosphere. Scientific staff and business people want to keep good relations and cooperate in creating their own B&R projects.

Business breakfast are very popular at different countries. The meeting was organized by the Centre for Maritime Technology Transfer.
